PVC was discovered in early 1835, but the final version, which included polymerization of vinyl chloride version, introduced as a final version about 35 years later. The use of PVC pipes in the drinking water and sewage sector was a good choice due to sufficient chemical resistance and lack of taste or odor and smooth interior surface.

 

But a problem in the PVC pipe manufacturing process appeared in output and high-quality PVC pipes were not the same level of fluctuation in the quality of PVC pipe production was a new weak point.

In 1978, the PVC industry was established along with the first factory for the production of PVC pipes in Iran. After importing some of the PVC pipe production machines, it was time to set up and train the personnel, which unfortunately coincided with the Islamic Revolution in Iran this is the first  PVC pipe industry obstacle in Iran.

 

After this delay and not buying the rest of the PVC production machines, it was the turn of the Iran-Iraq war, which was the second obstacle in the production of PVC manufactory in Iran.

 

After the Iraq-Iran war, the PVC produced as a workshop scale. the first generation of PVC pipe called polika. Problems of PVC pipe workshop version in Iran were lack of specific quality.

After about a decade since the war and the temporary reduction of US sanctions against Iran, began the import of high-quality PVC production equipment and machine, and due to the high demanding consumer market, the establishment of a PVC factory in Iran was welcomed by investors.

 

Due to the novelty of this industry, it took several years to establish a factory with an acceptable standard. But after a few years, several factories producing PVC and PVCU pipes were established in Iran, most of which are located in Tehran province.

After a decade of the manufactory, PVC pipe in Iran reached the world standard. And now PVC and UPVC pipes are produced with ISO 9001 standards in Iran.

 

UPVC pipe is used for drinking water and irrigation in Iran. The other part is municipal and industrial wastewater, which is very economical with the evolution of PVC and UPVC pipe chemical resistance.
